The Joe Creighton Band: 1986 - 1988
Formed by Joe Creighton and comprised of (left to right) Steve Hadley, Tony Floyd, Joe Creighton and Paul Gildea, the band played 6 nights a week around many small venues in Melbourne performing 50s, R&B, gospel, blues and some original songs by Joe
Vince Jones Band: 1986 - 1989
​Tony was a member of Vince Jones Band, recording two highly acclaimed albums in Warner label: "It All Ends Up In Tears" (1987) and "Trustworthy Little Sweethearts" (1988).​
He toured nationally with Vince Jones playing to regular sell-out shows throughout the country and appearing on regular TV performances.


​Things of Stone and Wood is an Australian folk rock band that rose to prominence in the early 1990. Known for their acoustic instrumentation, thoughtful lyrics, and energetic live shows, they are often associated with the Australian folk-pop revival of the time.

Tony was a founding member as drummer/percussionist/backing vocals alongside Greg Arnold (vocals, guitar, primary songwriter), Michael Allen (bass, backing vocals) and Justin Brady (violin, mandolin, harmonica)
During 1989 and 1990 they built a following playing the Melbourne pub scene, expanding out to regional touring and tours in Sydney and Adelaide as they gained popularity.

Other Collaborations
In 1989, Tony played on the Gold selling album from Ross Wilson "Dark Side of The Man" (1989).
Throughout the years 1986 to 1990 Tony played performances with Paul Grabowsky, Don Burrows, Tony Gould, Graeme Lyall and international jazz musician Vincent Herring. He notably played with Christine Sullivan at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club in London.
Tony recorded with Linda Cable, Third Floor Richard, Ruby Carter and Christine Sullivan.
Tony was also a member of The Jextet and Oxo Cubans during this time.
