Things Of Stone And Wood: 1989 - Present

​The bands trajectory continued leading to their breakthrough album

"The Yearning" (1993) featuring the hit single "Happy Birthday Helen", which became an Australian classic. The album reached #8 on the ARIA Albums Chart

Signed to Columbia Records Sony 1992- 1995, during this time they recorded and released five albums.

The band embarked on regular national tours during 1990-96, with 3 tours of Canada and 1 tour of Europe.

They achieved six Top 50 singles, including Top 10 song "Happy Birthday Helen" and two Top 10 albums: "The Yearning" and "Junk Theatre".

The band won an ARIA Award in 1993 for Best New Talent for the song "Share This Wine" from The Yearning album. Greg Arnold also won APRA Songwriter of the Year that year.​​

Men At Work: 1997- 2000

Tony performed as drummer/singer with the re-formed multi Grammy award winning band Men At Work. With them, he played to regular audiences of up to 30,000 people, touring the US in 1999 and 2000, Brazil  and Peru in 1998 and an 11 country Latin/South American tour in 1999.​

Tony also worked with the lead singer and songwriter of Men at Work, Colin Hay, on an Australian tour.

The Black Sorrows Crooked Little Thoughts

The Black Sorrows: 1994 - Present

Tony Floyd first joined legendary Australian band, Joe Camilleri & The Black Sorrows in 1994, contributing to their ninth studio album, "Beat Club", released in November of that year. He has continued to play, record and tour nationally and internationally with the band.

During this busy time, Tony also played with international singer Eartha Kitt and US Jazz legend Lee Konitz.​

Tony recorded and performed over this period with Mark Seymour, Hugh Jackman, No 1 US single artist Merril Bainbridge, Peter Knight Quartet, Rob Burke Quartet, and Bennett's Lane Big Band.

He has been a drummer for Deborah Conway's band, and they also worked together on the album "Stories of Ghosts" where Tony features on vocals and drums.

He also performed as session drummer/percussionist for Joe Camilleri's side projects, including "The Revelators" and on several Camilleri produced albums
